Those Who Came To Bella's Funeral

In the first picture you see Diane, Petie and Chester. Bella and Petie were best friends and Petie never left her side for 11 months....just like I didn't. We were all together and happy to be so.

In the next picture you see Marsha holding Foxy, a sweet little three legged chihuahua that Chester drove over 1000 miles, I think he told me, to rescue. Then myself, Chester, Lady and little tiny Angel behind lady.

Marsha and Chester are animal advocates and member of a local rescue group. They have helped countless animals and I respect them so much.

Lady is a beautiful, white pit bull that was rescued from a fighting ring. You can still see some scars on her. She was used as a bait dog. So much for the myth that pit bulls aren't able to be rehabilitated after they have been trained to fight. All but one or two of Michael Vick's dogs were rehabilitated and Lady is the sweetest little girl you've ever seen. My son has a special place in his heart for rescued Pit Bulls, as do many other intelligent, civilized people.

Little Angel is an adorable, soft, cuddly little thing that I would have taken home with me had I not been so completely exhausted and in need of some rest.

The second picture is my son Michael and Chester. The third is little Angel, being playful and happy as usual.

By now you know who all these animals and people are. The last three pictures were taken over by the graves of our other three babies, Currie the Golden Retriever and Maggie and Chiquita, our other chihuahuas.

All over the cemetery you can see little statues of animals, angels, Jesus, St. Francis, flowers and flags left at gravesites. It's just great. There are benches, a place to house the ducks and chickens that have been rescued, white picket fences and the police dogs are buried up front. The owner of the cemetery donates those graves to officers who loose their partners in the line of duty. She told me when a police dog (officer) is buried you will see tons of police cars coming to the funeral with all the blue lights on. That's the way it should be. They are burying a fellow officer.
